When Evelin came to Germany as a volunteer for a year, her life changed forever. Learning a new language, immersing herself in a foreign culture, living in a host family in Lüneburg – all those were invaluable experiences. Upon returning to her home country Ecuador, Evelin wanted to ensure that others would get the same opportunities for personal growth and cultural exchange.

After volunteering in another exchange organisation for five years, Evelin decided to co-found the non-profit organisation Vientos del Sur. Her responsibilities include managing the «weltwärts» South-North component, coordinating the projects within Ecuador, administering the website and handling social media.

Evelin is about to complete her degree in Environmental Engineering from the Technical Northern University in Ibarra.

Cuando Evelin llegó a Alemania como voluntaria durante un año, su vida cambió para siempre. Aprender un nuevo idioma, sumergirse en una cultura extranjera, vivir en una familia anfitriona; todas esas fueron experiencias invaluables. Al regresar a su país de origen, Ecuador, Evelin quería asegurarse de que otros tuvieran las mismas oportunidades de crecimiento personal e intercambio cultural.

Después de voluntariar en otra organización de intercambio durante cinco años, Evelin decidió cofundar la organización sin fines de lucro Vientos del Sur. Sus responsabilidades incluyen la gestión del componente Sur-Norte de «weltwärts», la coordinación de proyectos dentro de Ecuador, la administración del sitio web y el manejo de las redes sociales.

Evelin está a punto de completar su carrera en Ingeniería Ambiental en la Universidad Técnica del Norte en Ibarra.
